Pittsburgh is home, but for so many of us, the city we love is changing.
New development is coming to our city, increasing housing costs for renters and homeowners. As a community, we need to come together and create a Housing Opportunity Fund to ensure long time residents can stay in the neighborhoods they have always called home.
What would a Housing Opportunity Fund do?
It would help the most economically vulnerable of our city achieve safe and secure housing by supporting—
• Seniors on retirement income
• Young families starting out
• People working low wage jobs
• People with disabilities
• Veterans who have defended our country
To make this vision a reality, we need to raise $10 million in annual
revenue. The fairest way to do this is to create a new one time, assessed at the point of sale, 1% Realty Transfer Tax.
VOTE YES, to rehabilitate 270 units of rental housing, create 234 units of new housing, and provide rental assistance to 180 families.
Please pledge to vote YES to create a Housing Opportunity Fund on November 8, 2016. This fund will strengthen our communities and the power of our neighborhoods. Everyone deserves the opportunity to live in a safe, healthy, and affordable home.
We will be contacting you with more information on how you can help.
